RIDGEGATE RESERVOIR - 02/10/03

This evening we return to Macclesfield Forest and embark on a walk around Ridgegate Reservoir, for photos from our previous visits to the forest and further information about the area see 14/08/03 or 20/04/03. For a map of the area, click here. The weather tonight is very dull but dry and fairly warm.

There is not a breath of wind in the air tonight as we walk in a clockwise direction around the reservoir. Centre photo shows a glimpse of the Leather's Smithy pub through the trees, there are a few people fly fishing on the reservoir tonight.
The walk is mostly along good paths, but there is a short steep section with steps. The view on the right looks towards the Telecom Tower on Sutton Common.

Warning signs around the forest and evidence of the felling, along with the smell of freshly cut wood that lingers in the air.
