| The Great Langdale Valley is a popular place for camping, rock climbing and walking, offering low level flat walks and more challenging ascents of the Langdale Pikes that rise from the Valley. | ||

| There are two Langdale Valleys, Great Langdale as featured, and the quieter, less accessible Little Langdale which is separated from Great Langdale by the Lingmoor Fells. Centre photo above shows the Stickle Barn Pub and the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel with the dramatic Dungeon Ghyll waterfall behind. | ||
