SHAKERLEY MERE - 20/11/03 (PHOTOS FROM 16/11/03)

Photos from a short walk around Shakerley Mere in Cheshire. The mere is located close to the M6 motorway, east of the small village of Goostry, for a map of the area click here. The weather was sunshine and showers with a temperature of about 10˚C.

It is a fairly short walk around the mere along good flat paths. The area is busy with people feeding the wide variety of birds here.
The mere is a former gravel pit. It is a popular spot with anglers, managed by Lymm Angling Club it is stocked with carp, bream, roach and perch.

The water is still, with no breeze in the air; a stark contrast to the gales of a couple of days ago that have stripped most of the trees of their leaves now.
