THE ROACHES - PAGE 2 - (09/10/04)

The second page of photos from our visit to The Roaches, to see further details and photographs, including location information see page one by clicking here.

The plaque, (centre photo) carved into the side of one of the rocks reads 'Visited by the Prince and Princess of Teck, August 23rd 1872'.

'The stuff of legends' Doxey Pool is shown in the photo to the right above. This mysterious pool is said to be bottomless with curing abilities and is home to local resident Jenny Greenteeth, a mermaid who is said to lure travellers to a watery grave.

The last few views as we make our way back after our walk along the The Roaches ridge, the walking conditions were rocky in parts with some steep steps to climb to get to the ridge itself. Click here for page one.
