MOW COP CASTLE - 25/04/03

Mow Cop Castle is located south of Congleton, Cheshire, off the A34 Congleton to Stoke road, it is run by the National Trust and is situated between two other properties, Biddulph Grange Gardens and Little Morton Hall. Just a short walk tonight, around the Castle site, which was actually built in 1746 as a summerhouse. The weather was cold, cloudy and windy, not surprising, considering how open the castle is, with views across Cheshire. From the A34 road to reach Mow Cop we pass Morton Fisheries and Macclesfield canal, part of the Cheshire Ring Canal System.
