The days are getting longer but winter is still capable of delivering an icy blast of snow, hailstones, lightening and gale force winds over the last couple of days. Views above are from Standing Stone at the top of Macclesfield Forest looking towards the highest point in Cheshire, Shining Tor, and the Cat and Fiddle Pub.
More storm clouds race across the sky with glimpses of the sun above the forest and views over the Cheshire Plain.
The sun sets across Ridgegate Reservoir, full of water after the winter rain and snow.
A day later and the cold weather persists with views from Macclesfield Forest and nearby Wildboarclough; temperatures are forecast to drop as low as -5˚C overnight in the area.
