GOYT VALLEY - PART 1 - 27/04/03

The Goyt Valley is located close to Macclesfield and Buxton on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border. It consists of two main reservoirs, Fernilee and Errwood although there is a lot more to see here than simply the two reservoirs.

Just off the Whaley Bridge to Buxton Road, parking in a layby, we walk towards the River Goyt at the northern end of the Goyt Valley. The path leads towards the tiny village of Taxal.

Turning right from the Whaley Bridge to Buxton Road we head along the road towards the two reservoirs.

Parking at a rough car park in between the two reservoirs, we start along the path Longhill & Midshires Way.
