GOYTSCLOUGH QUARRY - 09/11/03

Today we return to Goyt Valley around the area of Goyt's Bridge and Goytsclough Quarry. The area is located between Macclesfield and Buxton, but cannot be approached from the south, off the A537 road as a one way system is in operation. We approach from the west, through the village of Rainow. For a map of the area click here.

Goyt's Bridge left photo and a plaque on the bridge, centre photo. Right photo, the River Goyt running through the valley, in the direction of the Errwood Reservoir.
The weather is dull and misty, as well as cold, with the temperature only reaching 8˚C, winter is well on the way! Right photo an information board about the area.

Left and centre photos show Deep Clough that runs into the River Goyt. Right photo, a blot on the beautiful landscape in the form of a burnt out car.
