MACCLESFIELD FOREST - PAGE 1 - (04/03/06)

Scenes from a walk at Macclesfield Forest where freezing temperatures and recent snowfall created a winter wonderland. Despite the cold appearance light winds and sunshine made walking conditions ideal.

Both Ridgegate, (left photo) and Trentabank Reservoirs were partially frozen over with a dusting of snow lying on the surface.

Our walk started from the Visitors Centre at the forest, from there we travelled east initially in the direction of the Standing Stone Car Park before crossing the road that runs through the forest and going north following signs towards Forest Chapel.

The walk from the Visitors Centre towards Forest Chapel is all uphill but the views across the forest as you climb are reward enough for the efforts. To visit page two from this walk click here.
