The thatched Hawk House located in the gardens at Chirk is shown in the photos to the left and centre above.
     
The picture on the left shows the view from the terrace along the 17th century Lime Tree Avenue towards a statue of Hercules. The 18th century lead statue of Hercules is one of many at the castle, including bronze Art Nouveau sculptures.
     
Views of the courtyard in the castle are shown above, it was passed into the care of the National Trust by the Myddleton family in 1981.
     

 

Round drum towers as shown in the centre photo are located at each corner of the castle, rooms inside the castle include elegant state rooms and a medieval tower and dungeon. To visit page one from our visit click here.
