Scarecrows in Wincle and Danebridge Villages. The Villages are on the Cheshire and Staffordshire border with the picturesque River Dane marking the county boundary. Each year the scarecrows in the festival get more impressive with the photos on this page providing a small selection of what could be seen on the route from Wincle to Tittesworth Reservoir.

The walk around Tittesworth Reservoir is about five miles long with some short uphill and downhill sections. There are a few gates to pass through and steps in places but no stiles to climb over making it an ideal walk with dogs. There is a Visitor Centre at the Reservoir with a shop, refreshments and car parking, a good place to start and finish the circular route marked as the long walk.

For those not wanting to walk the longer five mile route around the reservoir there are a number of shorter walks marked along good paths from the Visitor Centre with views across the reservoir and towards the nearby Roaches in Staffordshire.
